Evidence of type of culture:
1. Person Culture- Relaxed and friendly, working in teams. They treat each other as family and work very close; this encourages them to work together.
2. Entrepreneurial Culture- Company values innovation and creativity. Evidence for this is that all employees are expected to work on their own projects for 20% of the time they are at work.

3. Casual nature to culture: home clothes, BBQ lunches.
Philosophy on Work:
1. Soft HRM: Types of perks for employees clearly costs money.
2. High targets: see being great as being something of a starting point, rather than an ending point. “Always trying to stretch and get further than expected.”
Some companies (e.g. Nike, Keen, and Kennedy) are beginning to copy this type of culture. (Nike has a culture of “true believers” who will work extra hard for the product)

Google needs to innovate and create new ideas. Or they will be left behind like Yahoo. This market is so competitive that they need to keep innovating.
Their workspace is so nice and innovative- this allows them to bounce ideas off each other. By having such a nice place to work, they will clearly want to be at work, stay at work, and creative more ideas for the company.
for example: all the offices are designed to encourage interaction between employees, even down to seating charts that encourages employees to sit with people from different teams.
